sports on-camera workshop

This workshop is designed for sportscasters who want to improve their on-camera and interviewing and reporting skills.  Great athletes typically did not go to journalism school.  This workshop gets them up to speed on important storytelling skills.  It is also a great workshop for those who want to make the move into the broadcast booth.

Through the use of hundreds of video examples, your team will see the mistakes most on-air sports talent make and be taught how to avoid the common pitfalls of the sports interview.

We’ll show your team how to reinvent the standard pre and post-game interview.  They’ll learn how to create greater anticipation. We’ll teach them how to break out the most compelling components of a game and showcase those elements in stand-out coverage that differentiates.

We’ll show them how to build a sportscast that crosses demographic boundaries and entices both the sports fanatic and the casual sports viewer.  We’ll also show them how to create stronger sports packages that showcase the most powerful story narratives of the struggles and triumphs of coaches, athletes, owners and fans.

During this workshop, we’ll put them on-camera under the lights and give them immediate feedback as we critique their performance. They will leave this workshop much better prepared to be interviewed or to conduct an interview.
